Kukljica is situated near the Strait of Ždrelac and it can be called the door to Telaščica Nature Park and Kornati National Park. The old nucleus with its original examples of folk architecture is divided from the tourist peninsula of “Zelena punta” by a large cove with a small port always filled with fishing boats and wooden sail boats. The attractive sandy beaches of Sabuša, Kostanj and Jelenica under the shade of pine trees are situated on both sides of the locality. A valuable monument is the 15th century restored church of St. Jerome in Kostanj Cove. Every year, on the feast of Our Lady of the Snow, celebrated on August 5th, an interesting procession of boats takes place sailing from Kukljica to the church of Our Lady of the Snow in the Strait of Ždrelac, where, according to tradition, 400 years earlier snow fell on that midsummer day.
